Re-Delivery Charges

If a freight carrier is unsuccessful when attempting to deliver to a "ship-to” address, a re-delivery charge may be necessary. This will be charged to the purchaser.

Amsoil Product Parcel Post Shipments

1.Claims for damages by Parcel Post must be filed by the purchaser.
2.Return damaged merchandise and cartons to the local post office when the claim is filed.
3.All claims are returned to the shipper for verification of mailing date and distributor cost of the damaged items.
4.If reimbursement is made to the shipper, Oil Depot will replace the shipment to the purchaser at no charge.
5.You can also accept reimbursement on your claim. If so, you must place a re-order with Oil Depot for replacement of your damaged products.

Amsoil Product Small Parcel Shipments

Please inspect the shipment before signing for delivery. When there is visible damage, refuse to accept delivery. UPS/FEDEX will return the damaged goods to the Distribution Center and the distribution center will re-ship your order. If UPS/FEDEX delivers a package without a signature and you discover damaged goods inside, contact your local UPS/FEDEX office and refuse the shipment due to damage. When there is concealed damage discovered after you accept delivery, contact Oil Depot, LLC for instructions immediately.

Amsoil Product Other Shipments (LTL of Common Carrier)

1.When damaged goods are received, have the driver make note of the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign it.
2.Contact Oil Depot, LLC to have the claim started with the carrier.
3.Damage claims must be filed within 7 days. The sooner you file, the better.
4.Unlike UPS/FEDEX shipments, you should never refuse a damaged shipment when the products are delivered via a commercial carrier (truck lines). To do so will cost you freight both ways.

Note: It is the responsibility of the purchaser to file all claims for damaged shipments that are sent freight collect.

Oversize Items

Some items do not meet the standard ground shipping designation due to size or weight and will have additional shipping charges imposed by the ground service carrier. A special handling surcharge will be applied.

Truck Freight Fees

Truck Freight applies to all items too large for UPS, FedEx, or the Post Office to handle. These items are assessed extra shipping charges due to their size.

Most Truck Freight items have two standardized shipping rates, one rate to the terminal, another to your home and/or location.

Truck Freight to the terminal means that your product will ship to the closest freight terminal to your home (in the contiguous 48 states only). You are responsible for the transportation of the product, plus any associated costs, from the freight terminal to your home. If your item is overly large or heavy, we recommend you use a trailer or flatbed truck to transport the item to your home. Truck Freight to your home means that your product will ship to your home. The delivery location must be accessible to the delivery truck, the driver is only required to deliver to your curb, and getting the item(s) into your home or garage is your responsibility. When the shipping carrier calls to schedule your delivery, please indicate if Lift Gate Service is necessary to remove your item(s) from the truck.

There are two options for truck freight delivery:

0-100 lbs. $89.00 to the terminal $99.00 to your home
101-300 lbs. $99.00 to the terminal $109.00 to your home
301-499 lbs. $139.00 to the terminal $149.00 to your home
500-649 lbs. $169.00 to the terminal $179.00 to your home
650-900 lbs. $189.00 to the terminal $199.00 to your home

These rates do not include lift gate fees. If your order includes more than one Truck Freight item, the items may be shipped from multiple sites, resulting in multiple shipping charges. Actual shipping charges are determined when the items are shipped and could be greater than the minimum estimated amount. Unless all items are on back order, the minimum estimated shipping charge will be billed at the time the order is placed and displayed on your order acknowledgement. If there are any additional fees above the amount shown on your order acknowledgement, we will contact you prior to shipping. Usually, the shipping carrier will call the phone number we have on file to arrange the delivery day and time. You must be present to receive and sign for the shipment. DO NOT sign for any package that shows damage to the outside carton. Have the driver note the damage on the bill of lading, do not sign it, and refuse the package. Please contact Oil Depot at 877-904-7006 immediately if there is damage and refusal of delivery.

Returns & Refunds

Products in their original packaging may be returned in new and unused condition within 60 days for no penalty. Between 60 days and 6 months, a 10% restocking fee will be assessed. We do not allow returns after 6 months from date of purchase, regardless of first date of use. Special ordered products (i.e., drums, totes, kegs, etc...) cannot be modified, returned, or exchanged after the order has been placed, unless damaged or defective.

All returns are subject to inspection. Any product that, in our opinion, shows evidence of being used or installed contrary to manufacturer's instructions and/or subjected to improper handling, packaging, or shipping by the customer will not be eligible for exchange, refund, or warranty consideration. We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee or refuse any return.

Your reimbursement will be based on your original payment method:
  • If you paid by credit card, a credit will be issued to your card on the day your return is received and/or upon final inspection (although it may take up to two weeks for the credit to appear on your monthly statement).
  • If you paid by check, a refund check will be issued to you the day your return is processed. Please allow up to 15 days for you to receive the check.
Shipping costs for return items are the responsibility of the purchaser, however, reasonable concessions may be made on a case by case basis and at the sole discretion of Oil Depot.

Sales Tax Exemption

If you are going to claim tax exemption on your purchases and pay state taxes directly to your state revenue department rather than have it collected by Oil Depot, LLC at the time of purchase, you will be exempt only in those states in which you have a valid registration. Otherwise, it is the responsibility of Oil Depot, LLC to collect sales tax on all sales unless the products are exempt or the purchaser provides a valid exemption certificate. Contact your state for tax exempt registration and requirements for tax exemption in your state.
