Pro Gear is a full synthetic, ester based gear oil offering unsurpassed performance and protection.
Regenerative, synthetic polymers resist shearing, mechanical breakdown and viscosity loss of the oil. High viscosity index (VI) formula offers consistent film thickness and performance over a greater operating temperature range.
Technologically advanced formula increases horsepower and delivers superior anti-wear and extreme pressure protection from peak loads and elevated temperatures.
Surface active chemistry delivers ultra-high film adhesion on gear faces, enabling higher load carrying capability and protecting critical gear interface areas and contact points.
Fully formulated additive system contains anti-foam, rust, corrosion and oxidation protection for high-stress conditions.
Exceeds the requirements of API GL-5.
Features and Benefits
- Resists shearing & mechanical breakdown.
- Consistent film thickness over various operating temperatures.
- Superior protection during peak loads.
- Surface-active chemistry aggressively attaches to surfaces, keeping them clean and corrosion-free.
Applications
Pro Gear is recommended for use in front and rear differentials, manual transmissions and lower gear units of marine engines or anywhere an API GL-5 gear oil is specified.
The Maxima Pro Gear Oil is a full-synthetic, ester-based formula that meets and exceeds API GL-5 requirements. It is perfectly safe for hypoid gear systems found in classic rear differentials.
Modern ester-based synthetic oils are generally much safer on traditional seals than earlier synthetics. However, if your classic car has deteriorated or brittle gaskets, switching to a high-detergency synthetic can reveal existing leaks that were previously blocked by old sludge.
Maxima 75W-190 Pro Gear Oil can be used in motorcycles, but only in specific applications like shaft drives or transmissions without wet clutches. Because of its extremely heavy viscosity (75W-190) and API GL-5 rating, it should never be used in standard wet-clutch motorcycle engines or primary cases, as it will cause clutch slippage
