Benefits
- The ACEA B4 standard requires excellent detergent/dispersant power and resistance to viscosity increase due to soot in direct injection diesel engines.
- BMW Long Life-01 imposes stringent requirements, particularly for the Valvetronic system, covering BMW engines from 2001 and some from 2004. BMW LL-01 also encompasses previous BMW specifications like BMW LL-98.
- BMW LL-01 applies to gasoline engines outside the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, and Liechtenstein. Refer to BMW guidelines for specific recommendations.
- MOTUL 8100 X-cess 5W-30 meets all BMW Long Life-01 specifications for BMW, MINI, and ROLLS-ROYCE vehicles without exceptions, applicable to models from 2019 onwards. For models up to 2018, MOTUL 8100 X-cess 5W-40 is also recommended.
- For BMW vehicles requiring BMW LL-04 lubricants, use only approved products like MOTUL 8100 X-clean+ 5W-30, MOTUL 8100 X-clean EFE 5W-30, MOTUL 8100 X-clean gen2 5W-40, or MOTUL Specific LL-04 5W-40.
- The VW 502 00 and 505 00 standards are designed for VAG group vehicles (VOLKSWAGEN, AUDI, SKODA, and SEAT) with fixed oil drain intervals, suitable for diesel engines without Unit Pump Injector (Volkswagen PD) or diesel particulate filters (DPF), and gasoline engines.
- The MERCEDES MB 229.5 standard is more stringent than MB 229.3, offering extended drain intervals and enhanced detergent/dispersant power (ACEA B4), with a 1.7% fuel economy improvement over a 15W-40 reference. It applies to MERCEDES gasoline engines except AMG models in 5W-40 viscosity grade, and MERCEDES diesel engines without DPF.
- RENAULT developed RN0700 and RN0710 standards for oils compatible with severe thermal conditions and modern after-treatment systems. RN0700 is for naturally aspirated gasoline engines (excluding Renault Sport) and Renault diesel cars with 1.5L dCi engines without DPF and less than 100 hp.
- RN0710 applies to turbocharged gasoline, Renault Sport, and certain Renault diesel engines without DPF. For Renault diesel cars with 1.5L dCi engines without DPF and less than 100 hp, specifically requiring RN0700, and for 2.2L dCi with DPF, use only RN0710.
